I have successfully worked as a professional organizer in Colorado for over 5 years. I created this binder as a solution to the drudgery of maintaining an ever changing and expanding collection of recipes.

Designer Details:
No two binders will be alike.
I hand altered this cover using Bo Bunny gift of love collection. The paper has been laminated and secured onto the cover and is easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. The chipboard flourish and flower embellishments have been adhered with an indoor/outdoor clear household silicone. The handmade divider sections are made from sturdy card stock with a laminated coordinating tab. Two cute tags hang from the front binder, one says "My Recipe Collection". A decorated binder clip is included and can be used in a number of ways: use it to hold your recipe on the binder or on the counter (see photo), use it to hold your new recipe to try or shopping list, or just as an embellishment!

Practical Details:
The 3 ring binder made by Mead is 10” by 11.5” and the cover and back are flexible. The cover flips to the back just like a spiral notebook making it easy to fit onto the countertop! But because it is a binder you can add and change it as needed. I created the following tabbed sections: Appetizers & Beverages, Breads & Breakfast, Soup, Salads, & Sandwiches, Meat, Chicken, & Seafood, Veggies & Sides, Desserts, and Holiday & Parties. You also get two flexible plastic divider note pockets to use for recipes to try or take-out menus and you can store extra recipe cards in the handy extra clear pockets. Behind each tabbed section I’ve included four 8.5 x 11 page protectors to slip your clippings in to. Using your own 8.5 x 11" paper and double stick tape you can add smaller clippings as well. You can add additional page protectors and paper, as you need. Check out your office supply store for page protectors that hold 4x6 inch recipe cards. As a added bonus you will receive a weekly meal planner with shopping list attached, just make as many copies as you need.

The large tag:
1. Cut a plant or other motif from an old Dictionary with EK Success Photo Labels Punch.
2. Cut the tag shape from a random book with the largest of the three Emagination Tag Punches. Cut another tag shape from paper or card (patterned or plain depending on if you wish to write on the back side) and glue it on the back of the tag to make it more robust (book pages are too thin paper to stand alone as a large tag).
3. Ink the edges of the tag (front and back side both) and the plant motive. I used Sepia from Archival Ink. Glue the plant motive in place.
4. Cut a hole in brown wrapping paper with the kind of a hole punch one uses to make holes to file papers in ring binders. Mine punches 4/20" holes but after finishing this project I found in a craft store an EK success small punch that punches only slightly smaller (3/16") holes which I plan to use from now on. Center a 1/2 inch circle punch around the first hole and punch out the reinforcer ring.
5. Glue the reinforcer ring in place. Remove the bottom from your binder hole punch and flip it around to see what you punch. Punch through the middle of the reinforcer's hole.

The small tag:
1. Stamp little images on the margins of an old yellowed book. I used Colorbox Sepia Black ink.
2. Cut tag shapes from the stamped margins with the smallest of the three Emagination Tag Punches by aligning the punch with the stamped image. Choose a book that has pages made of thick sturdy paper so you dont have to back up the tags.
3. Make rings as above but with smaller punches to scale with a smaller tag. I used Fiskars hand punches. The larger is 1/4" and smaller 1/8".
4. Glue on the reinforcer ring. Punch through its middle. To be able to see what you punch and position the hand punch it pays to just rip off the top of the confetti collectors lid. At least in the Fiskars punches this is possible, mind you, there is no way to re-attatch the lid.

The reinforcers are punched from brown paper collected from paper recycling box (yeah I know, I know, dumpster chick, lol). The distributors of papers and ads get their lots wrapped in this beautiful thick brown paper that I just can't resist. For such faux-antique crafts the brown coarse paper has just the right feel. And the "real" tag hole reinforcer rings are always exactly this hue of brown so I just must have it :)
